Nam Yang Warriors Intensive Fight Camp.

2 weeks at the awesome Kung Fu Retreat in Northern Thailand training with the ‘Nam Yang Warriors’ professional fight team.  An exciting experience carefully planned for ambitious competitive fighters looking to up their game.

The Kung Fu Retreat is a self contained martial arts complex set on five acres of mountainside on Thailand’s mountainous North Western frontier.  It has four training areas, a gym, accommodation and kitchen plus its own home farm and fruit orchards.  Very much the dream location for training in the mountains of the East!

Our Intensive Fight Camps give a concentrated burst of high quality, high energy training.  The intensity is high so we run them for only two weeks at a time, after which we suggest that you rest for a little.  The ‘Warriors’ camps are suitable for amateurs and semi professionals.  We concentrate on stand up fighting, especially San Da (Chinese boxing), K1 and general kick boxing.  We do not train ground fighting but can give a lot of help to MMA fighters wanting to improve their stand up skills, take downs and take down defences.

You can reasonably expect that by completing a fight camp you will:

  • Significantly increase your punching and kicking power.
  • Strengthen your take down defence.
  • Gain new combinations.
  • Increase your strength, flexibility and stamina.
  • Significantly improve your take down skills.
  • Develop your breakfalls.
  • Increase your skill in clinches and standing grapples.
  • Tighten your defence.
  • Be better able to switch your strikes between head, body and legs.
  • Adopt a more active guard.

You will learn:

  • Stages in preparing for a fight.
  • How to cut weight safely and effectively.
  • Methods to control pre fight anxiety / adrenaline rush.
  • The mind game – adopting a winning mentality.
  • Breathing exercises to aid recovery from training and injury.
  • Relaxation methods.
  • How to make the best use of the gym.

You will be taught advanced training techniques which few modern day fighters know for:

  • Core strength.
  • Flexibility.
  • Improving the accuracy of your high kicks.

These techniques make a big difference!  And to win you need to have an edge.

Over the course of the two weeks you will take part in eight sparring sessions, each lasting for one hour.  The instructors will be watching carefully and will give detailed feedback after each round.  Sparring will be reasonably light contact in order to minimise injuries.  It is optional but very much recommended – this is a chance to hone your sparring skills with a variety of new sparring partners from different martial art backgrounds and receive skilled, experienced coaching.

Why you should choose us.

  • Our camps cram a huge amount of training into a very short time for people who can not afford to spend months or years at training camps.
  • We are English speakers who can communicate clearly in language which you can understand.
  • We know the fight game in the west and how to get you ahead.
  • Our camps are pitched at ambitious fighters who are looking to up their level.  If you are new to competitive fighting or are experienced in amateur competition and looking to establish your self as a professional, our training is pitched at the right level for you.
  • We have a fully equipped training camp with accommodation, meals, gym and matted training areas: you will live martial arts all the time that you are here.  No need to travel to and from training, no distractions, just full concentration on improving your fight game.

The ‘Nam Yang Warriors’ professional fight team.

The Nam Yang Warriors will be teaching and training at the ‘Warriors’ Intensive Fight Camps held in August of each year and will be ready to spar with all students, giving you the chance to sharpen your skills with serious professionals.  This is why the ‘Warriors’ Intensive Fight Camps cost slightly more – we have to fly the professionals in from their base in London.  We think that it is well worth it.

Your Teachers.

To really up your game, you need to be taught by professionals.
